In fact, according to a data, the average British woman average 30-year-old has 21 bags and buy a new one in three months. Many people admire this thing. Not a few are collecting in large numbers. But how many of them know the handbag’s history itself?
Handbag had not appeared yet until the mid 19th century. Before that time, the handbag’s history recorded people store their valuables in a pocket called pouches or purses. In the 1400s, people use the purses for the purposes of style and function. Purses have been decorated with various ornaments, borders and additional materials such as gold. In the 16th century, purses were made in normal materials such as cloth and leather. At age 18, woman chose a dress that is more slender and narrow. This dress does not leave space for bags. Purse’s returned to open and it showed the women have been highly dependent on their bags.
The 19th century is the rise of the handbag’s history. Bags previously used to refer primarily to hold the man’s baggage. Then bags were inspired by new style for women, with a lock and complicated fastenings. From the 1920s onwards clothing became simpler and lighter. Handbags came into practical needs and style choices that inseparable from each woman’s clothing. In the 1940s, because of limited supplies of war materials such as metals, zippers and leather, handbag manufacturers began experimenting with materials such as plastics and wood to create bag.
Nowadays, there are various options bags available in various shapes and sizes. Material used was being conducted by the market bag. There is water resistant material, silk, and trendy plastic grip. Leather is still the favorite choice of materials.
